On May 16, 2026, at the Women and Family Empowerment Centre (CPFF) in Bandjoun, the association HURAC carried out an important awareness and capacity-building activity on the fight against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and women’s participation in local governance. This activity was implemented under the funding of the French Development Agency (AFD).
Through participatory discussions, educational sketches, role plays, and interactive sessions, internally displaced women and girls, Bororo women, and vulnerable women from host communities strengthened their knowledge on the prevention of GBV, women’s rights, leadership, and civic participation.
The activity also encouraged women and girls to actively engage in community decision-making spaces and become ambassadors for dignity, inclusion, and the protection of women and girls within their communities.
This activity is implemented by the association HURAC with the support of ALVF, within the framework of the consortium “Femmes, Paix et Sécurité en Afrique Centrale”, under the funding of the Agence Française de Développement (AFD).
