We are proud to have successfully organized a key capacity-building activity aimed at securing the cyberspace of Human Rights Defenders (HRDs), journalists, and activists in the Mifi Division, West Region of Cameroon.
A total of 06 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) actively took part in this important session, demonstrating strong commitment to protecting civic space and strengthening collective digital resilience.
Through practical training, risk assessment exercises, and the promotion of secure communication practices, participants enhanced their knowledge and skills to better prevent and respond to cyber threats. In a context where defenders increasingly face online harassment, surveillance, and digital attacks, strengthening digital security is not optional — it is critical.
This initiative also integrates an inclusive and gender-sensitive approach, ensuring that women human rights defenders and marginalized voices are fully considered in digital protection strategies.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Digital Defenders Partnership for their trust and financial support.
We equally appreciate the strategic engagement and partnership of Hivos and Unlimited People, whose commitment to human rights and civic freedoms continues to strengthen local actors.
Together, we are building safer digital spaces where defenders can speak, organize, and act without fear.
