Promoting safe and informed migration : a concrete commitment to youth in Cameroon!

23rd – 27th March 2026 ;

As part of the Wok au Mboa project, HURAC participated in a 5-day training workshop on immigration law and the risks of irregular migration, following an invitation from ARCS (ltalian NGO).

🙏We sincerely express our deep appreciation to ARCS italian organization ,for this opportunity to strengthen the capacities of key actors working with youth.

Alongside 25 participants from public institutions, civil society, and guidance structures, the training contributed to :

  • Enhancing understanding of migration legal frameworks and policies
  • Improving access to reliable migration information
  • Strengthening guidance and counseling skills for youth
  • Raising awareness on the real dangers of irregular migration (trafficking, exploitation, illegal recruitment)

💡A strong takeaway: migration should be an informed choice, not an illusion. Local opportunities exist and must be promoted as sustainable alternatives for youth empowerment.

Through this initiative, HURAC and fellow participants are now better equipped to act as community-based information relays, supporting young people in making safe and responsible decisions.

Together, let’s continue investing in awareness, prevention, and youth empowerment.
