Bafoussam, 05th ferbuary 2025;
As part of the IGNITE project, funded by Urgent Action Fund Africa, HURAC organized an inspiring discussion with 20 internally displaced Bororo girls to explore the cultural norms and barriers hindering their empowerment.
Key Highlights:
In-depth discussions on their aspirations and challenges as young girls in their community.
A safe space where they realized they could speak up and make decisions about their future.
Awareness on the importance of education and encouragement to explore STEM and technology-related careers.
Identification of community leaders as role models for inspiration.
Thanks to the dedication of our community facilitators, the girls felt empowered to open up and envision a future where they become agents of change.
A huge thank you to @Urgent Action Fund Africa for their support and to everyone advocating for a more inclusive society!
Let’s continue amplifying these voices and supporting the empowerment of young girls!
